“Nothing great in the world has been accomplished without passion.” – Hegel, Philosophy of History

HE who attempts to suppress the truth is a fool for inviting self-destruction. And I dare say that the late ruthless dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos is the glaring example of what I mean.

But that was long ago.

Those born 30 years ago and younger hardly know the evil that was named Ferdinand E. Marcos prior to the People Power of 1986. Because 60 percent of our voters today are those born 30 years ago and younger, it is the compelling duty and obligation of our elders to help educate the teeming millions of poor Mindanaoans and elsewhere through social media and by word of mouth that the oligarch-cronyism in our country is once again bastardizing the greedy main-stream media–the giant national TV, radio and print networks–in suppressing the truth by broadcasting and/or printing the nefarious trending business of the so-called survey-takers kuno, the SWS and Pulse Asia, both owned by the Aquinos and the Coquangcos, wealthy scions of Tarlac and Luzon.

By spending billions of pesos in commissioning the SWS and the Pulse Asia, the filthy oligarchs and the trapos are unwittingly trying their worst in self-destruction. Believe you me, by suppressing the truth and in lieu thereof presenting to the people their malicious, infamous and lucrative trending business, most of our young people are doing overtime in social media – the unstoppable vehicle for truth, justice and equality among all peoples of the world. Trust me, social media cum gospel-truth-by-word-of-mouth is the same vehicle that made the Americans elect and reelect for the first time a Black American president, Barack Obama.

Setting humility aside, I dare say that what the Americans and others have invented, Mindanaoans have perfected with gusto.

Proof?

Only last 23rd day of March, the dirty Romualdos of Camiguin (as opposed to the few good ones) did everything in vain to stop the most eager Camiguingnons from welcoming to their lanzones shores their newly crowned rock super star Davao Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Based on personal accounts by Camiguingnons themselves, the bad, ugly and definitely Veterans Memorial Hospital-bound Romualdos applied their infamous dirty tricks department: cutting off electricity, spreading spikes (para suyak sa mga kotse) on the roads and highways, refusal to issue rally permit and sending out modern day Judases to list the names of those attending the rally so that their names may be delisted from the list of 4Ps beneficiaries. But to their excruciating daylight nightmares, the reigning Romualdos had to seek shelter from the advancing never-say-die Camiguingnons who voluntarily thronged the freedom park in Mambajao to witness the ultra-charismatic “Super Digong” Duterte, threatening the ugly Romualdos with imprisonment in the most likely event the feisty Duterte becomes president by May 9 this year.

While Camiguin has always been out of the presidential radars for votes, tough-talking and newly crowned Duterte defied the tradition and easily won the hearts and minds of the largest-ever-assembled Camiguingnons. Consequently, Dr. Manny Jaudian, a die-hard PDP-Laban stalwart, all too suddenly became a David in the island of the Goliaths a.k.a. the greedy Romualdos.

With the Duterte magic, Dr. Jaudian is now ready to win by landslide the congressional fight in spite of the undeniable lack of funds. After all, warm bodies and not money stolen from our taxes win votes.

Undoubtedly, in the past, the trapos have secured theirs seats in Congress, the judiciary and the executive departments through people’s money stolen from our government coffers, but only because, at that time, our teeming millions of Mindanaoans and the other poor people in our archipelago were yet searching for and praying for one of their kind–someone with uncommon valor and untainted name: Davao Mayor Rodrigo “Super Digong” Duterte.

Now, the ugly past has come to an unexpected end. The Mindanao eagle has landed. A new bright and beautiful beginning is dawning.

Since all dictators embedded with debilitating greed met their violent end at a time they’ve least expected, Dr. Jaudian, the first ever congressional candidate who has single-handedly convinced a sure-winner presidential bet to risk his own safety, may have created a niche to ensure a stunning upset victory come May 9, this year.

From Camiguin, Duterte took a single-seater chopper to razzle-dazzle, as he did, the throng of cheering, rattling yet well-behaved and smiling Gingoognons that same day at an open-air mini-grandstand but with a huge and spacious ground. Because daylight was running short, Duterte spoke only for less than 10-too-short-minutes to a large crowd of over 30 thousand beautiful and lovely people of Gingoog City, the nearby barrios and municipalities as well as the staunch PDP-Laban leaders of the Caraga and the newly reorganized PDP-Laban council led by its energetic president Marlo Tabac, vice president Atty. Ike Naduma, secretary general Willy Cuenca and newly designated administrators Ka Gangging Pimentel and Jobags Bagabuyo.

After the short rally of standing only audience in Gingoog City, Duterte’s chopper was able to take off only by six in the evening because the lovely young and not so-young ladies of Gingoog as well as the LGBTs joyfully elbowed one another just for “selfies” with the sure landslide winner.

Duterte-Cayetano pa more!

Tsada, di ba?
