President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Thursday, December 20, led the thanksgiving and Christmas party for prison, police, and coast guard personnel, promising continuous support from his administration.

In his speech during the event, President Duterte said that he wants to leave a legacy that will boost the financial capability of the country’s uniformed personnel through the lease of government-owned lands.

The President said he envisions a self-sustaining pension system for the police and military as well as its allied agencies with capital coming from rentals of military reservations.

President Duterte also wants to establish a bank that will cater to the needs of soldiers and policemen. He said he expects Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III to submit a blueprint for such a plan next year.

“I wish you and your loved ones all the warmth, happiness and peace. Merry Christmas to you all,” he continued. (PCOO)
