PO3 Wilson Estenzo, the police officer arrested for his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade in the city, has asked the City Prosecutor’s Office to conduct a no-nonsense preliminary investigation  in connection with the complaint filed against him by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Estenzo asked this even as he submitted his counter-affidavit to the office of City Prosecutor Liezel Ecol. He accused PDEA agents of violating his rights and of making up a story against him.

The former member of the city police’s anti-narcotics unit had also signed a waiver that allows PDEA to place him under detention.

Estenzo, a member of the Cagayan de  City Police Office (Cocpo), was arrested by the PDEA inside his home at Villa Candida, Bulua in the evening of Sept. 9.

In his three-page affidavit, Estenzo accused the PDEA arresting team of “planting” evidence against him.

He said the suspected shabu seized in his house was “planted” by a PDEA agent, and his confiscated pistol was taken from his bedroom.

Estenzo said the other pieces of evidence presented against him were “clearly not contraband.”

He maintained that he has not been selling illegal drugs, and that no buy-and-bust operation ever took place at the time of his arrest. He asked prosecutors to dismiss the complaint against him “for lack of probable cause.”

He also accused PDEA agents of barging into his house without a warrant.

Estenzo claimed the agents poured fuel on his head, handcuffed him, and forced him into a PDEA vehicle.

Reads part of his affidavit: “I am very hopeful that an administrative determination of guilt will immediately reveal the absence of probable cause, and thereby sparing us from the further ignomity of needless litigation.”

He submitted to the prosecutor’s office a medal in an effort to show that he was a good member of the City Anti Illegal Drugs Task Force, and other awards.

“No one can ever put a good man down,” Estenzo said.
