Fire destroys two houses in Butuan

BUTUAN City – Two houses were destroyed after a welder accidentally set a pile of trash on fire in Purok 2, Barangay Bayanihan here in Monday morning.

Senior Fire Officer 3 Florentino Gilo Jr. of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Caraga said no one was hurt in the fire accidentally started by 34-year-old Dixie Caballo of Upper Doongan, Butuan.

Gilo said Caballo is facing charges for violating safety laws, negligence resulting in damages to the property of Delfino Raniel.

Residents said the fire broke out at around 11:20 am. A “fire-out” was declared at 12 noon.
