A FORMER member of the New People’s Army (NPA) was shot to death by undetermined armed men at Kitaotao, Bukidnon, on Sunday morning.

The Kitaotao police identified the victim as  Lazarito Alcoriza Jr., a resident of Purok 7, Sitio Ovilla, Barangay Kahusayan. The gun attack was staged at around 5 am.

Police said the victim was a rebel surrenderer who served at the Kitaotao municipal hall as a “job order” worker.

Police theorized that one of the reasons for the killing was Alcoriza’s present links with the military. They said he was an “asset” or military informer.

According to the police report, the victim was seen talking with a group of four men when, all of a sudden, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times.

Police said the victim died on the spot.
