He said he would be running under the regional political party Hugpong ng Pagbabago led by Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

Uy said he believes in political reforms being pushed by the HNP.

Pressed on further what inspired him to run, Uy said he wants to implement his best programs when he served as the local chief executive of Tagum City to other local government units.

He also expressed confidence that he has the backing of the local mayors in Davao del Norte province.

“My performance as Tagum City mayor will be enough basis for me to run,” Uy said. (davaotoday.com)
