Goking’s call came in the wake of reports that  Maute Group members, passing themselves off as patients, were arrested in medical facilities in Pagadian City.

Supt. Lemuel Gonda, Camp Alagar spokesman, said police units in all the municipalities, cities, and provinces in the region were alreadygiven instructions to check hospitals, clinics and other medical facilities within their respective areas of jurisdiction.

“We expect that Maute members will bring (their) wounded to nearby hospitals, clinics, and health centers. That is why, every now and then, we send police officers to check on patients,” Gonda said.

He said people manning hospitals, clinics and other medical facilities should can also help by reporting patients being treated for burns or gunshot wounds.
