THE capitol will host the Governor’s Night during the first day of the three-day 12th Mindanao Geographical Conference of the Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants (Phalga) here tomorrow.

With the theme, “LGU Fiscal Managers: Responsible Stewards of Public Resources,” the conference would be participated in by the local government accountants and their staff members, members of the local finance committees, barangay chairpersons and treasurers, an appropriations committee chairpersons from all over Mindanao.

The Misamis Oriental Association of Local Government Accountants (Moalga) will assist in the conference.

Provincial accountant Marilou Rivera said Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano would formally welcome some 3,000 participants from all over the Mindanao area for the conference scheduled on Feb. 21 to Feb. 23.

After his welcome address, Emano would turn over the symbolic key of Misamis Oriental to Phalga during the opening ceremonies at 2 pm tomorrow.

Emano would also serve as one of the resource persons during the conference, and he would speak about Misamis Oriental’s best practices.

Rivera said Sen. Juan Edgardo Angara would deliver the keynote speech during the conference.

The capitol said the conference would be an opportunity for it to showcase its good governance practices and its high standard of ethics in public service as well as promote the province’s tourism destinations to other Mindanaoans.

TV host Miriam Quiambao, 1999 Miss Universe 1st runner up, would be among the resourc persons. She would speak about personal development. (misor-pio)
