WHY are so many Filipinos (27 a day now, according to the Department of Health) getting afflicted with the deadly HIV (human immunology virus) and Aids (acquired immunity deficiency syndrome)?
The ongoing pervasive permissiveness in Philippine society which enabled previously closeted homosexuals–whether men or women–to come out in the open and then shamelessly flaunt in public their sexual escapades with persons having the same gender as their own, that’s what!
Because men and women who are having sex with partners who are of their own kind–men with men, women with women–are now very open with their homosexual trysts to the extent even of posting their pictures with their partners in major social networking sites as if this is some kind of a glorious achievement, others are enticed and encouraged to engage in the same homosexual adventures.
This has caused a boom, in a manner of speaking. According to data released by the HIV/Aids and Art Registry of the Philippines (Harp) of the DOH, Filipinos acquiring the ailment is fast becoming truly alarming, particularly because HIV/Aids is still incurable.
As of January 2017 alone, 844 new HIV cases were recorded by Harp, representing the highest number of victims in just a period of one month since 1984, or more than three decades ago. This figure is five percent higher than the number of victims reported during the same month last year.
Out of the 844 new HIV cases for January 2017, six of those afflicted were pregnant women, and it is possible that the babies in their wombs will get infected, too. Then, 90% of the 884 are already having full-blown Aids, while three already died. Ninety-six percent of those afflicted–around 760–are men who had sex with other men.
One way of explaining this phenomenon–which is bound to afflict more and more Filipinos as the days go by–is through the Bible. In its Romans 1:18-27, it is there stated that men and women will become homosexuals–or persons who are romantically or sexually attracted to people of their own gender–because they no longer recognize God.
Romans 1:26-27 says: “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error…”
It is a form of a curse, and it is destined to be penalized with death. Consider this: “Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them…” There is only way then to avoid this deadly disease: we must all go back to God, truthfully and sincerely, by reading His Bible and obeying His commands.
