Hopes engulfs Gingoog City Jail on Wednesday when Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano assured inmates of chances to land a job at the Provincial Capitol after serving their sentence.

“Convicted criminals also have chances to change and you will always have a place at the Capitol if you need a job while I am governor,” Emano told crowd of prisoners at the Gingoog City Jail in time for the blessing of the newlyenovated chapel inside the facility.

Also blessed were 30 units of triple and 12 units of double deck beds, two long tables, one visitor’s deposit locker, book shelves, garbage stands and desk officer table and chair. The chapel, according to Jail Warden JSI Murphy B. Todyog, also serves as the multi-purpose hall inside the prison facility.

Emano said: “You should not lose hope. Don’t be afraid or shameful to approach me when you get out of jail. Not because you’re a convicted fellow you’re not anymore entitled to own a decent job. No, you deserve a chance,” the governor stated that brought the crowd to their feet and cheered aloud with optimism. (pio misor)
