Iligan City — Anti-illegal drug advocates would find it difficult to track down the two police officers listed in President Rodrigo Duterte’s drug watch list. One has long been dead while the other was not even assigned to the city.

Police Chief Sr. Supt. Leony Roy Ga said Wednesday that Roy Montes has not been assigned in Iligan City but in Misamis Oriental and Emilio Mendoza-Lozaria died two years ago.

Mendoza-Lozaria was killed by operatives of the Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA 10), Ga said.

The narcotic agents had arrested Mendoza-Lozaria in a raid in Iligan. When the agents were enroute to Cagayan de Oro City, Mendoza-Lozaria allegedly tried to grab one of the agents sidearm when the convoy was along Gimangpang, Initao, Misamis Oriental.

Duterte’s drug watch list has received flack from different quarters.

In Pagadian, the local government issued a statement calling on Duterte to update the watch list on the heels of reports that some of those listed were either dead or were not local government executives.
