Iligan City — In its first regular session, the 16th Sangguniang Panlungsod of this city presided over by Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz confirmed the appointment of Atty. Rafael Benedictos as Mayor Celso Regencia’s Chief of Staff, Atty. Dexter Rey Sumaoy as City Administrator and Atty. Voltaire Rovira as City Legal Officer.
To recall, the three were not confirmed by the last Sanggunian and the electorate here did not vote for them again.
All the councilors who won in the last elections were present, including Queenie Belmonte and Bernard Pacana, the only Liberal Party candidates for councilors who won.
Unlike its other sessions which have only several people who are not connected with city hall in attendance, supporters of the mayor trooped to the SP session hall in droves like in the election campaign period.
