ILIGAN City – The First Foton Motors Philippine Women’s Volleyball Challenge is set to be held at the MSU-IIT Gymnasium, this city on May 18 to 20, according to a report from the Office of Iligan Lone District Congressman Frederick W. Siao.

The said tournament is organized by Foton Motors Philippines and Office of Congressman Siao  in coordination with Iligan city Volleyball Association.

It was said that participating teams would arrive and register a day before the tournament formally kicks-off on May 17.

Prior to the start of the tournament a motorcade would also be put in place along the main city streets, followed by a short program at 9am and games would later follow at 10pm.

The tournament is expected to be participated by 8 teams from 6 cities and provinces from all-over Mindanao, namely: Cagayan de Oro city, Misamis Oriental, Ozamis city, Oroquieta city, Bukidnon and this city.

Verne Padilla told reporters that the tournament was organized by the Office of Congressman Siao and Foton Motors Philippines in coordination with the Iligan Volleyball Association as part of the Congressman’s efforts to bring Iligan to the limelight in the field of sports  as well as to realize the goals of “Asenso Iligan.”
