Jose Pantoja, city information officer, yesterday said there were four resolutions of the Sangguniang Panlungsod already regarding the illegal operators but  these operators are not minding them.

He singled out the operation of “3A8,” the chief pperating officer of which he named as Margie Molina, which he said is behind all these.

These operators are operating illegally, he said, and they do not have the necessary machines, no computers, no bar codes.

Unlike in Cagayan de Oro City, he said, which operate legally as they have the necessary equipment to go with these operations.

They are not securing permits or licenses  from this city, he added referring still to the operators of STLs in this city.  They are just using the “tali-tali” system, he said, referring to the pieces of papers issued to bettors.

The city then is also securing the position paper of the city legal office, he said.

Pantoja added that the “massacre” on a STL was  maybe, because of “other parties.” He did not elaborate.

To note, a guard of a STL operator her was gunned down by unidentified suspects December 24, 2018. He was identified as Jonas Jaralba, 31. Another guard, a brother of the fatality was identified as Henry Jaralba who was also hit but survived the attack though hospitalized.

Pantoja said 3A8 had made investigations on the matter “without even involving the police here,” hence, the police here were “bypassed.”

A visit to the said operator at Palao, this city, revealed that the said STL is named 3A8 Gaming and Entertainment Corp..

Pantoja said the company had hinted that they will file charges against officials of this city even as he said the city is ready to file charges against the company and they “will include the PCSO” or the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
