ILIGAN City–Judge (to the convict): “You are hereby sentenced to imprisonment for the rest of your life.”

Accused: “Oh, no! Oh no!”

Judge: “Oh, yes. There’s a ‘forever’ after all!”

That was taken from a comics strip.

So, is there a “forever”?

The answer to it, based on that is a “Yes.” Even an Ombudsman decision says so. Specifically, with the word “perpetual” as in “perpetual disqualification.”

This has been applied to former mayor Lawrence Cruz, former vice mayor Ruderic Marzo, et al.. The personalities though do not believe that there is a “forever.” If we go by their actions like filing for motion for reconsideration with the Ombudsman. The Ombudsman though did not agree with them as it was in state of denial. I mean it denied their MR.

They ran to the Court of Appeals. But the CA was “loading.” I mean, it can’t decide yet.

So, they ran to the Supreme Court. Even as they were awaiting too a “forever” decision from the Ombudsman on the “Pulahan” that is Mayor Celso Regencia.

The latter too got a “forever” ruling. Courtesy of the “yellowhans” (the mayor’s rabid supporters call them “yellowtards.”)

“Board to board,” a politician once said to mean “equal”–as in “tabla”–as each camp now has a forever ruling.

A stunned Regencia who was recently released from a room with grills, went to the CA. And was promptly given a temporary restraining order. That meant that his forever is no longer that.

Temporarily. The camp is now awaiting the writ of preliminary injuction. Which will make the temporary no longer that.

The “yellowhans” though are not through with action against the “pulahans.” Based on the report of the city information officer Joe Pantoja, there is a supplemental complaint to dispose “forever” the “pulahans,” and their supporters. This include already the councilors who are mostly “pulahans” and lawyers though not necessarily “pulahans” but friendly with the mayor like Vermin Quimco, Demy Plando, Edgar Prospero, Zaldy Lim, Rafael Benedictos, and Dexter Rey Sumaoy. The latter, to recall, was instrumental in that fateful ombudsman decision of perpetual disqualification, dismissal from service, etc. because of the lease on the land owned by the Lluch family of which Cruz is among the heirs.

That makes the “pulahans” now paranoid as in thinking that they are going to disqualify the “pulahans” en masse so that the only man or woman left standing will be Queenie Belmonte, daughter of Regencia’s nemesis Vicente. The mayor, by the way, received such order of dismissal and perpetual disqualification, etc. because, why did he continue acting as mayor when he was detained and there was already a TRO which reversed a previous TRO that he could do so? And why did Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz and councilors allow that? They are just as liable as Regencia for grave abuse of authority. Hence, the supplemental complaint which in addition to above names include Vera Cruz. I mean, he’s the leading man in that complaint.

(VM is a priest by the way. So is another priest who’s also included: Fr. Naser Zaragoza.)

So, the answer to the question whether there is a “forever” is also “no.” And, maybe there’s also an “in between” answer akin to a computer term of “loading.” Or, in the meantime. As in the “teleserye” that says “abangan…”

In the meantime, too, the lawyers, ah, the lawyers keep lawyering, researching, digging their books, making petitions, drafting pleadings, prayers, etc. etc..
