Jon Karlo Dimarucut is a 21 year-old a BS-Marine Transportation student at Capitol University. Jon to his friends and family is a fun, loving and trustworthy person with an act of standing out. ABS-CBN saw this potential and gave him the title as the GwapongBaby Face, at first Jon wasn’t really confident with the nickname he got, because he doesn’t see himself as a baby face, but is honored that at his age he is still seen that way. Jon never considered himself as a gwapo, but he is confident of who he is as a person which he says, maybe gave people the impression that he’s Gwapo. “I did not consider myself as a gwapo, but if they see me that way, I am thankful for that.” He said. On his free time Jon enjoys playing basketball, lawn tennis and modeling. “I am a sports oriented person, I play all sorts of sports, but what I really love doing is modeling and joining competitions such as this, because it helps me grow and build my self-confidence on stage,” Jon said. He believes that life should be explored, experienced and enjoyed, while we still can. “I want a different path for me, and experience what life has to offer, and Barangay Gwapo Season 5 will be a great stepping stone for me, a stage where I can learn and grow and understand others coming from different backgrounds” he shares. Jon shares with us that this competition is not just base on looks alone; it also needs character, compassion and most of all the will to win.Baragangay Gwapo surely made Jon step his game up, though for him he may not be that good looking compared to the other competitors, he won’t be left in the background. “ABS-CBN wouldn’t have let me join for no reason, they trusted me enough to let me be one of the top 10, and I know, I may not be as handsome as the others, but there’s one thing that I’m sure of, each of us have something to offer and I am confident that my character and experience will stand out,” Jon shares. Jon’s advantage in BGS is his experience in modeling and joining pageants, sharing that he has been doing this for almost half a decade and to add, he also plays guitar and sings as well. If given a chance to be named as the Grand Champion of BGS5; Jon intends to help his City and barangay in any way possible and using social media as one of his medium to spread awareness of current issues in today’s youth and by joining activities and projects set out to help others. “I want to be an instrument of change, especially towards the youth, to be a guide and be a role model to them someone who they could look up to one day,” Jon said. “I have nothing else to say but thank you sa walang sawang support sa ako, God Bless.” Jon KarloDimarucut
