Dr. Ramon Nery (right), chief of the city hall-run JR Borja Memorial General Hospital, cuts the ceremonial ribbon to formally open the hospital’s “Kangaroo Mother Care Room” yesterday morning. Assisting him are Dr. Stephanie Alagadan, the hospital’s pediatrics unit head, and Francisco dela Fuente, a Cagayanon who represents a North California group. The room can accomodate six babies, prematurely born, with their mothers at the same time so they can receive medical care. There, the babies will be with their mothers for some time.
