Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte — The mayor of this municipality has returned to serving as town mayor.
Mayor Lorenzo Manigos told media that he is back in his post last December 23. But he declined further to comment on what happened or the latest developments on his leadership here.
Manigos was detained at the Ozamiz jail facility of last Aug. 19.
This was after being caught, along with four of his security escorts having firearms and explosives in his vehicle in a check point near the Ozamiz seaport on his way to his town, after his landing in the airport of the city.
The firearms were found to have expired licenses. He was detained then for months in the jail facility in Ozamis after charges of illegal position of firearms were filed against him.
Vice mayor Beltran Lumaque then acted as acting mayor for the Kolambugan while Manigos was in detention.
It was learned that the mayor was able to post bail for the charges against him.
