Tubod, Lanao del Norte – The provincial government of Lanao del Norte highlights the One-Town-One-Product (OTOP) program of the Department of Trade and Industry during its opening ceremony for the Agri-aqua, Livestock and OTOP Fair on June 29, 2015.

“Lanao del Norte is the only province to elevate the OTOP program from the municipal level to the provincial level. By assisting local OTOPs through effective marketing and promotions, the provincial government is giving these local products a better chance at success”, explained DTI-10 Regional Director Linda Boniao.

Among the popular OTOP commodities displayed at the municipal booths were calamansi concentrate of Lala town, banana chips of Tubod, clay pots of Baroy, and buko pie of Linamon.

The fair officially launches the week-long celebration of the 56th ‘Araw ng Lanao del Norte’ celebration.

Among the highlights of the day were the grand parade of provincial employees, people’s cooperatives, and corporate sponsors, 1st provincial invitational rodeo, painted carabaos contest, and first judging of municipal booth and pinaka contest.

The annual fair is spearheaded by the Provincial Agriculture Office headed by Provincial Agriculturist Letecia Ditucalan. VNL/PIO-LDN
