Cotabato City — Assemblyman Abol Alam A. Padate of the 2nd District of Lanao del Sur has proposed a resolution allocating funds to purchase vaccines and medicines for the internally displaced persons of Marawi City.
During the plenary session of the Regional Legislative Assembly, Padate highlighted reports from the Department of Health and Mercury Drug Foundation Inc where it concluded that many of the evacuees were suffering from conditions related to upper respiratory tract infection, skin diseases, acute respiratory infection, hypertension, and acute watery diarrhea.
According to his proposed resolution, the budget will come from the intended support budget of the Armm to the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos. In recent years, the Armm has allocated a portion of its annual budget in support to the NCMF. Padate stressed that NCMF can still continue performing its functions and mandate without the financial support from the Armm since the former’s budget has increased by P100,000,000 since 2015.
