Lao creates Task Force Spaghetti

CITY Councilor Teodulfo Lao, Jr, as chair of the committee on energy, is considering organizing a task force which will put an end to the awry state of telephone and electric wires in the city. Lao will be calling it “Task Force Spaghetti.”

“Ang atong tuyo niini nga malimpiyo ang atong syudad kay grabi na ka gubot ang mga wire nga atong makita sa kadalanan,” Lao said.

Lao added he has appointed the Office of the Building Official (OBO) to head the task force since OBO is a member of his committee.

He has tasked the OBO to convene all telecommunications companies and cable companies operating in the city, including the Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company (Cepalco)  to discuss possible solutions on how to address the “spaghetti wires” in the city.

Lao posited that because of the advent of mobile phone technology, most of the awry wires of telecommunications companies and cable companies are not in use anymore. These wires will be the task force’s first target.

“Kanang ubang wire nga nagbitay na sa dalan kay wala na gamita sa cable company maka-disgrasya sa mga motoista dapat malimpiyo gyud na,” said Lao.

He said the OBO will report to his committee on the updates of Task Force Spaghetti.

Lao added his committee is now in the process of drafting an ordinance to regulate the installation of wires in the city.

“Pareha karon, atong makita nga gubot kaayo ang mga cable lines kay ang mga telcos wala may ilang common junction box. So, bisan asa nalang sila mo-tap sa ilang mga linya,” Lao said.
