The Nagkahiusang Magsusulat sa Cagayan de Oro (Nagmac), in partnership with the Xavier Center for Culture and the Arts (XCCA) and with support from Little Me Academy, organized the poetry leg of the 2017 Cagayan de Oro Young Writers’ Studio at the XCCA Conference Room, 3F Museo de Oro, Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan.

Paneled by Nagmac’s resident poets—Ben Aguilar, Adeva Jane Esparrago, Alton Melvar Dapanas, and Ton Daposala—seven poetry fellowships were given to aspiring poets based on the potentiality of the poetry manuscripts they have submitted. The poetry fellows were Celbert B Abalde (MSU Iligan Institute of Technology), Angelie T Ballesteros (Golden Heritage Polytechnic College), John Carlo P Beronio (Cagayan de Oro College-Phinma), Noven Brix M Deguit (Lourdes College-Senior High School), Kahlela Adrienne Solidum (Central Mindanao University-Senior High School), Eloise Jeph Serra (Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan), and Alixamae P Visaya (Capitol University).
