WATER consumers in the western villages of the city up to Opol town in Misamis Oriental, would experience water pressure problems again starting tonight as a result of pipe interconnection works by the Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water Inc.

Ladelle Sagrado, Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) spokesperson, said Cobi has informed COWD that it would work on the interconnection of an existing 600-millimeter (diameter) pipeline with a new 600-mm (diameter) east pipeline.

Cobi said the work would include testing, flushing, disinfection, and eventual commissioning of the new pipeline.

Sagrado said the water pressure is expected to weaken from 8 pm today up to 6 am tomorrow. Some areas, she said, may temporarily completely lose their water supply during these hours.

She said areas expected to be affected are Lumbia, Pagatpat, Canitoan, Kauswagan, Bonbon, Carmen up to Iponan and Opol in Misamis Oriental.

Sagrado said people in elevated areas may have no COWD water supply at all.

But she said the water supply is expected to normalize tomorrow after the Cobi is done with its interconnection works. She said residents are advised to store water today. (Nitz Arancon)
