Talisayan, Misamis Oriental — A man was shot to death by still unidentified gunmen while he was riding a motorcycle yesterday morning at Mandahilag Highway here.
Talisayan police identified the fatality, through his Voter’s ID, as Emilio Jorbito, a resident from Tagum City.
Jorbito was riding a red Honda XR200 along Mandahilag Highway at about 9:00 am, Tuesday when another motorcycleiding duo shot him in the neck. Jorbito died with a single bullet which went through his neck.
In their initial investigation, Senior Insp. Cecelio Orcullo cited the witnesses saying that the victim was enroute to Cagayan de Oro City.
Orcullo added the witnesses saw the duo wore black jackets and helmets.
“Gisundan ang biktima nga kusog ang dagan ug gipusil iyang likod nga bahin,” a witnsess told Orcullo.
The victim fell off the road about 100 meters from the spot where he was shot, Orcullo added.
According to the witnesses, the gunmen even alighted from their motorcycle and checked if Jorbito was dead then they sped towards Butuan City.
As of this writing, the police have yet to find the empty shell of the bullet that killed Jorbito at the crime scene.
