Man waters plants, then hangs self

AN electrician went out to water his plants at around 5:30 am yesterday.  Thirty minutes later, he was dead.

Police yesterday said 55-year old Edgar Dadol became the third suicide in the city this month.

Dadol tied a wire around his neck and hanged himself inside his room at Mindanao Homes in Barangay Pagapat, said SPO3 Gil Labis of the Bulua police.

Labis said the suicide had problems with his wife Ferminda who often went to the police station to call for help because she was allegedly a battered wife.

“Kining iyang misis,  sigi na kinig pa-blotter sa atong buhatan,  ug iyang ieklamo kining iyang mister kay  maglasong lagi labi  matud pa niya labi  na kon maka-inom,” said Labis.

He said the couple’s relationship hit rock bottom that Ferminda went to the extent of going to  the 37th branch of the Regional Trial Court here to secure a   temporary protection order against her husband. The court set a hearing on March 21.

Police went inside Dadol’s house at around 8:30 am after being told of the suicide. Labis said Dadol was already dead when officers.

Dadol was the third man in the list of suicides in the city since March 1. The first was guard Jayson Ladao who killed himself in his rented room in Camama-an; the second was Berlin Dablio who hanged himself in his house in Calaanan, Canito-an last week.
