Manhunt on vs. suspect in worker’s shooting death


POLICE launched a manhunt against a man from Macasandig who allegedly shot and killed a laborer inside an abandoned house in San Isidro, Lapasan at around 10 pm Wednesday.

Chief Insp. Arnel Polo of the Agora police, said Abdul Wahab, 46, of Aluba, Macasandig, is now being sought over the shooting death of 26-year old Johnrey Flores of Lapaz 1, Lapasan.

Polo said Wahab fled after he allegedly shot Flores to the head with a caliber .45 pistol. The bullet pierced Flores’s cheek and exited through the ear.

Crime scene investigators found a spent bullet and drug paraphernalia at the crime scene.

Polo said investigators were still trying to find out why Wahab and Flores were inside the abandoned house in San Isidro, Lapasan.

Flores’s widow Joan said the victim had just been released from the Lumbia city jail where he was behind bars because of an illegal drug case.

Crying, the widow said her husband, who had been a laborer, left her with two children. She cried out for justice.
