The Northern Minda-nao Police Regional Office (PRO 10) has withdrawn police officers deputized and assigned to Ozamis City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, Sr. and has no longer direct control over his local police units.

Pro 10 regional director Chief Supt. Noel Constantino ordered police officers deputized as police security escorts to Parojinog to immediately report to the regional headquarters at Camp Alagar within 24 hours after receiving the order.

In a press statement sent this paper, Constantino issued the order after receiving the copy National Police Commission (Napolcom) Resolution No. 2016-48 entitled “Withdrawing the Deputation of Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr of Ozamis City and among others (Under Section 65 of RA 8551 and Napolcom Memo Circular 99-010 as Amended by Napolcom Circular No. 2001-2003).

In a press conference, President Rodrigo Duterte  included Parojinog of Ozamis City as one of the narco-politicians in the country.

“I already informed the Provincial Director of Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office, Senior Supt. Edgar Mencion Daniel, Jr. that the mayor has no longer direct control and supervision of our police and advise him to serve a copy of the said resolution,” Constantino said as he reiterate PNP’s “zero tolerance” stand on drugs.

Constantino ordered the immediate recall of all police security escorts and bodyguards assigned to the identified narco politicians, while giving the latter 24 hours to turn themselves over to police authorities or “face dire consequences.”

Police Regional Office spokesperson Superintendent Surki Sereñas disclosed that they received a list of firearms from the Firearms and Explosives Office informing “that Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr of Ozamis City owned 27 registered and licensed Firearms, Councilor Octavio Parojinog, Jr  with only one firearm, Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog with one firearm, Councilor Ricardo Parojinog owned six firearm  and Mayor David Navarro of Clarin, Misamis Occidental owned four firearms,” Sereñas said.

Constantino ordered the said firearms to be surrendered to the PNP and to revoke all the firearm licenses from the said politicians.
