“Politics is but the common pulsebeat, of which revolution is the feverspasm.” – Wendell, Phillips, Speech 1853

ANYWHERE you go today in the paradise-like islands of Mindanao-Sulu-Palawan-Tawi-Tawi, Davao Mayor Rodrigo “Super Digong” Duterte is the overwhelming iridescent dream. Uncommon bravery yet full of compassion, he has tamed the Wild West bravado in Davao City, turning it from the infamous “Nicaragdao killing fields” into one of the 10 most livable cities in the world.

His track record outshines the bravest of the braves in our country even as his name has never been tainted by the No. 1 crime of Filipino politicians: the culture of impunity spawned by debilitating greed. Otherwise stated, Davao Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte is “Super Digong,” a fearless lawyer with a heart for the poor, the abused and the oppressed. He is wellespected even by armed communist and other rebels well as the peace-loving Muslims, and he is a standout even among LGBTs, the women and the children.

It is for this and more that Imperial Manila, the trapos and the filthy rich (henceforth called “Trio Los Kyapi”)––the triumvirate of avarice cum arrogance––conspire to create intrigue and dirty tricks using the ill-gotten wealth among Mindanaoans in the hope of dividing the 13.5 million solid voters for Duterte come May 9, 2016.

But what the Trio Los Kyapi refuses to listen is that iridescent Duterte is but the personification of the Mindanao dream: equality among all peoples of the world for lasting peace and prosperity. This being so, no matter what the trio does, Super Digong shall, without fail, safely sail to the presidency in May 9, 2016 either for our country or for the Independent Federal Republic of Mindanao.

In the trio’s troubled mind, they think that by enticing Mayor Duterte, who is undoubtedly lacking in clean funds, to be the vice presidential candidate of Mar Roxas, the former would grab the opportunity, not knowing that the move would only solidify the poor to use their own weapon against all comers, and thus provide Duterte the much needed zeal and adrenalin rush.

So what shall it be trio?
“Concon” simultaneously with the May 9, 2016 national and local elections or the fastest and more effective fever spasm––People Power only in Mindanao, thus installing Duterte as the first-ever President of the Independent Federal Republic of Mindanao?
Tsada, di ba?

“Nothing is politically right which is morally wrong.” – Daniel O’Connell
According to a national daily, more than 80 billion pesos are poured into the modernization of the Armed Forces. And, thus far, PNoy is the biggest spender for the modernization of our Armed Forces since Erap and GMA. But what is sad is that despite the administration’s boast of having improved our economy, we have more hungry mouths to feed compared to the last two Presidents.

And the worst part is that while the two Superpowers of the world––China and the US––are flexing muscles, our own PNoy is putting in another P50 billion of our hard-earned taxes to upgrade our minuscule Armed Forces with Jurassic war materiel from the US and her tentacles while saying that he is for the peaceful resolution of our sea conflict with our neighbor China.

According to the great Napoleon Bonaparte, “If they want peace, nation should avoid ‘the pin-pricks that precede cannon-shots.’” And certainly, buying more and more war materiel, no matter how obsolete, is more than just “pin-pricks.” Don’t you think so?

Believe you me, the only reason why the Trio Los Kyapi is in panic mode is because for the first time, Mindanao with her 13.5 million votes, is so sold to the idea that the only way to save our country from total perdition is to have a Mindanaoan President in 2016 and we are united in having Duterte as the first Philippines President from Mindanao.

Our focus is buoyed by the undeniable fact that the precursors of People Power––the “PACmen” former Senate President Aquilino Pimentel Jr., former Assemblyman and Governor Homobono Adaza and former Mayor and Assemblyman Reuben Canoy––are not only united for federalism and for Duterte. Our Big 3 are individually honing their best to make Mindanao’s iridescent dream a reality on May 9, 2015. Sobra ka na, Imperial Manila. Sa Mindanao na sab ta. Tsada, di ba?

Thank you Lord for everything. And Lord God, kindly implant especially in our leaders, honesty, humility, transparency and hard work in their solemn task as our servants-leaders because those who have less in life are the sovereign and the very source of their borrowed power and wealth. Finally, Lord, enlighten us all to see the light that greed is a flawed way of life. For truly, there is more profit in giving than in taking. For it is in giving that we receive. Truly, love begets love. Amen!
