Elections officer Carlito Ravelo and Aleli Ramirez were made to trade places.

Ravelo was transfered to Camiguin from Misamis Oriental while Ramirez, the island province’s elections officer, was moved to Misamis Oriental.

The Comelec order took effect this Jan. 3.

Renato Magbutay, Comelec regional director, said the order to transfer the two provincial elections officers was the decision made by the Commission en banc as early as December 2018.

Ramil Acol, the elections officer for Cagayan de Oro, is not affected by the reshuffling.

“Wala pa man siya sukad maka-serve sa election sa Cagayan  de Oro, mao nang dili pa siya (Acol) apiktado sa among reshuffling,” Magbutay said.

By the time the campaign period for politicians seeking national positions  begins on Feb. 12,  Magbutay would serve in Region 12.

Lawyer Wilfredo Valisado, Comelec regional director for Region 9, would replace Magbutay here.

Magbutay said the Comelec order would also affect the Commission’s field  officers in the region until the end of the election period on June 12. That month, he said, the reshuffled Comelec officials would return to their posts.
