Misor to hold training on organic farming in Initao

The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DA-FRO-10) Provincial Operation Center, in coordination with Misamis Oriental Provincial Agriculture Office (Mopao) will hold hands-on-training on organic farming to farmers on June 13-14, 2017, at Buhian Diversified Farm in Barangay Apas in Initao town.

Members and officers of the Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Misamis Oriental will attend the two-day training to enhance their knowledge on the latest technic in farming using organic fertilizers to produce high quality and abundant harvest of agricultural products.

Organic fertilizers include effective microorganism, vermin composting, and rapid composting, among others.

The Mopao said the training would also provide inputs on the importance of organic farming as tool in effective marketing efforts of the farmers.

“Less expense in growing agricultural products means higher income opportunities to farmers, and it will lessen the use of chemical-based fertilizers as it is the advocacy of Governor Bambi Emano to apply the alternative ways in planting and producing organic agriculture products,” the Mopao added. pio misor
