THE town government of Laguindingan in Misamis Oriental yesterday unveiled a new road leading to bus terminal which it named after the grandfather of former Cagayan de Oro-based broadcaster Dolly Ilogon.
Laguindingan Mayor Diosdado Obsioma led the unveiling ceremony at the Pastor P. Ilogon Sr. Avenue that serves as an access road from the highway to a new bus terminal.
The new road was named after Ilogon by the town council in recognition of the donation made by his heirs.
Obsioma said the Ilogon family donated 750 square meters to the government, allowing the construction of the much needed road leading to the town’s terminal.
He said the donation made in 2015 would add to the development of the town, the home of the region’s primary airport.
Witnessing the unveiling rites were members of the Ilogon family, and capitol and town officials. The now US-based former broadcaster and her brother Raul also took part in the unveiling ceremony. (nitz arancon)
