Misor’s bets to Palaro ’18 receive aid from capitol

THE capitol on Monday gave the Misamis Oriental schools division of the Department of Education P3 million as aid the athletes from the province who would compete in the Palarong Pambansa in Ilocos Sur in April next year.

Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano personally handed over the check to Deped division superintendent Cherry Mae Limbaco during the weekly flag-raising ceremony at the capitol grounds.

“It is a big help for our young ones who aspire to reach their dreams to become well-known athletes,” Limbaco said.

The Palarong Pambansa, scheduled on n April 16 to April 20, 2018, is expected to gather some 12,000 young Filipino athletes from all over the country, playing in different sports and disciplines to promote camaraderie and sportsmanship among students.

Emano acknowledged the partnership between the capitol and the Deped that is aimed at improving education as well as the quality of young athletes in the province.

“Deped has always been the partner of the provincial government in nurturing education especially for the unprivileged students who study hard in spite of their situation. Poverty is not a hindrance to success,” Emano said. (misor-pio)
