As part of MORESCO-1’s social responsibility towards education and health, the electric cooperative has re-established and re-strengthened its partnership with the German Doctors’ Community, which share the same advocates with the cooperative and has been the partner organization since 2007, in implementing Community Education Program.

The ten-month program is geared towards empowering the members of a community through lectures and hands-on activities on sanitation, self-care, household chores, and awareness on the rights of women and children, to name a few. Spearheaded by its partner organization, Morescc-1 aims to implement the said program in communities that fall under the cooperative’s coverage area. This is also one of our ways in showing its member- consumers that more than the development that it provides through electrification, it supports and give importance to their efforts in improving their respective lives.

In line with such, last March 2015, the said program was implemented at Pagalungan, Cagayan de Oro City with classes held every Tuesday of the week, 9:30 in the morning. In addition, Moresco-1 at present has sixty-five (65) participants who attend the weekly class sessions at the Barangay hall. With the hopes of inspiring and encouraging these people to develop and/ discover their respective potentials as an individual and as a community, the cooperative remains to hopeful that these people will continue to support the program as well as finish its whole duration.

Ultimately, MORESCO-1 aspires that through this partnership, it can further embody and realize the aims and direction of the cooperative’s thrust towards Social Responsibility as a catalyst for transformation through empowering the lives of the communities it served.
