MISAMIS ORIENTAL– The Local Government Unit of Initao town in cooperation with the Misamis Oriental -1 Rural Electric Service Cooperative (MORESCO-1) conducted a bloodletting program last June 3, 2015.This program has been annually supported by the cooperative with the aims of promoting health as well as support in the LGU’s campaign towards providing help to the people who will be recipients of the donated blood.
The participating barangays were Tubigan and Andales of which forty (40) attendees, out of the 60 expected participants, came and registered at Tubigan Barangay Hall in order to support the said program. Yet, after the screening process, only 25 participants were identified as qualified to donate blood. Nevertheless, the program was truly a success as it was able to realize the aim of helping those people who are recipients of the donated blood while at the same time promoting health to the donors.
As a whole, the electric cooperative continues to partner with organizations like the LGU in order to promote programs that are not only geared towards empowering the communities it serves but more so becoming part in addressing the needs of the society in general as part of their corporate social responsibility.
