Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency regional director Wilkins Villanueva said incinerated were six kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride of shabu, three kilograms of marijuana, and expired regulated drugs from various pharmacies in Region 10.

Villanueva said workers of Holcim Cement used a rotary kiln and coal fuel during the incineration that required 1,450 C.

The illegal drugs, he said, were seized  by PDEA agents during their numerous anti-narcotics operations throughout Region 10. These had been presented in the courts, and the incineration was given clearance.

Villanueva said the incineration was in compliance to Section 21 of RA 9165, otherwise known as the Dangerous Drugs Act.

“Ato kining gipasunog aron  atong masiguro nga dili na kini mabalik sa community ug mabaligya sa mga drug pushersmeaning, aron dili ma-recycle,” he said.

In another related development, police arrested a businesswoman suspected to be a drug dealer during a buy and bust operation here on Friday evening.

Senior Insp. Maricris Mulat, chief of the local police’s City Drug Enforcement Unit, said Molly Ali, 43, known as “Madame”, was arrested after she allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover agent at Xavier Heights in Upper Balulang around 7 pm Friday.

Eleven sachets of suspected shabu, weighing 50 grams and estimated to be worth P300,000, were confiscated from the suspect.

“Bag-o pa lang siya dinhi sa Cagayan de Oro and always siya moadto sa Manila kay naa man siyay legal nga negosyo,” said Mulat.

Authorities said they were looking into the suspect’s business activities.

The suspect was detained. A complaint for violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being prepared against her at presstime.
