POLICE arrested a Department of Environment and Natural Resources employee and his companion during a buy-and-bust operation on Tiano-Neri Sts., Barangay 8, here late last week.
Authorities identified the primary suspect as 24-year old Hakim Panandigan of Block-26, Lot-20, Villa Angela Subdivision in Barangay Balulang, this city.
Police accused Panandigan of peddling shabu.
Another person, An-Naif Macaumbos, 25, also of Balulang, was also arrested.
Police said they found out during the investigation that Panandigan works in the DENR in Midsayap, Cotabato. An ID card found in his possession shows he is a “PAWS-assistant.”
But Senior Insp. Glenn Abalde, Divisoria police chief, said Panandigan claimed that he no longer works in the DENR.
“Ayha na mi nakahibalo nga government employee siya pagkakita namo sa iyang ID pero gi-deny man niya nga empliyado pa siya,” Abalde said.
Abalde said police seized six packs of suspected shabu worth some P30 thousand, and a P500-marked money from the suspect.
