ILIGAN City — One of the most bountiful municipalities of Lanao del Norte, Nunongan, nestled up on the mountains overlooking Kapatagan Valley, hosted the Culmination of the 2018 Lanao del Norte Week of Peace late last month.
Town Mayor Marcos Mamay told reporters that it was the second time they hosted the occasion.
He said he believes that it is only in peace where development can truly be achieved.
One of the major achievements he mentioned is the road concreting project from the town of Sapad down the foot of the mountain that has now reached one of the barangays of his town.
He disclosed that recently he received a check from the national government in the amount of P73 million for the concreting of the road up to the Poblacion.
Nunongan has been chosen as the venue for the culmination activities because it is the most remote municipality and used to be the most underdeveloped town of Lanao del Norte.
