A old couple were hacked while they were asleep inside their home, yesterday dawn.
The victims were identified as Pustino Balid, 75 and Norma Balid, 64 of Barangay GK Compound, Talisayan town in Misamis Oriental.
Pustino succumbed to bolo hacks on his head while his wife Norma, who also suffered hack wounds on her head, is currently in critical condition at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center. According to the logbook of the hospital, the couple were sleeping inside their bedroom when at around 2 am, Friday, a certain “Summel,” a brother-in-law of Pustino, entered the old couple’s home and started hacking away at the couple with no apparent reason.
The suspect is still at large.
