The operation killed 12 BIFF rebels from air and artillery fires at Sitios Pandan, Mungkas and Bulod of Brgy Malingao, where 12 of those killed were identified.

There are also nine wounded from the rebel group.

“Our troops on the ground are continuously gaining advantage over the BIFF bandits in the SPMS Box for past 7 days of intensified military operation,” said Joint Task Force Central Commander Brig. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana.

The SPMS box refers to the towns of Salibo, Pagatin (Datu Saudi), Mamasapano, and Shariff Aguak.

He said the death of the 12 militants brought to 35 the total number of BIFF killed so far in ongoing clashes since July 1, which marked the start of the all-out offensive against the terror group in the province. (with reports from 6id)
