CAGAYAN de Oro City Council as has approved in principle the proposed budgets of various non-office allocations for year 2019.

During Day 4 of budget deliberations presided over by Councilor Edna Dahino, legislators discussed the proposed budgets under the city’s General Public Services Sector.

These include BUB (Bottom-Up Budget) projects/city counterpart to National Government Agency (NGA) projects (P20 million), Support to People Empowerment Projects under the City Poverty Reduction Action Center (CPRAC-BUB) (P9 million), Support to Extension Services (P20 million), Support to Executive-Legislative Services Program (P21 million) and Election Expenses (P10 million).

Also approved in principle were the budgets of City Chief Executive and its Auxiliary Programs and Services in Social Services Sector in a total amount of P49.6 million.

Under the City Chief Executive are the Cagayan de Oro Job Placement Bureau (formerly PESO) with a proposed budget of (P28 million) for Public Employment Assistance Program (PEAP), P1.09 million for Employment Assistance (Job Fair), P104,000 for Anti Illegal Recruitment (AIR) Campaign, among others.

Legislators also tackled the budget of the city’s aid to different government entities such as United Way, CdeO BSP Council, GSP, Phil. Service for Mercy Foundation, Treatment Rehabilitation Center-NBI, Veterans Federation of the Phils. CDO Veterans District, and Uniformed Personnel, among others. (SP)
