THE J.R. Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) can now continue its health services and other programs lined up for 2019.

This after the City Council Committee of the Whole during the budget hearing last week presided over by Councilor Edna M. Dahino, approved in principle the proposed budget of JRBGH in the total amount of P444,651,203.00 from P301,280,929.00.

These include the budgets intended for salaries and wages of employees (P190 million) and maintenance and other operating expenses that cover repairs for buildings and other structure such as hospital and health centers.

The appropriation is also intended for the procurement of vehicles (hospital ambulance) (P2.6 million), construction of medical oxygen plant (P7 million), among others.

Dahino recalled that the 18th City Council approved a Supplemental Budget for an amount of P120 million last year intended for ICU.

Dr. Ramon Neri confirmed that the City Council had approved SB but not specifically for ICU.

He said out of P120 million, P70 million was intended for JRBGH and P50 million for the construction of facility satellite hospital in Barangay Lumbia.

Legislators also approved in principle the proposed budget of the City Health Office in the amount of P207.2 million for 2019.

This will cover the salaries and wages of employees in the amount of P143.7 million, maintenance and other operating expenses amounting to P32.7 million and procurement of office equipment in the total amount of P1 million, among others.
