Cagayan de Oro City councilor Enrico D. Salcedo, chair of the City Council committee on cooperatives, proposed to penalize the management of LBC for violating the provisions of the city’s CCTV ordinance.

The proposal was stressed by Salcedo during the regular session Monday, November 12, 2018 led by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy in response to the proposed resolution urging the management of LBC to improve its security measures in its branches, especially in Cagayan de Oro City.

It may be recalled that LBC branches in the city had been repeatedly robbed by unidentified suspects.

Councilor Salcedo explained that LBC should tighten its security measures.

He said that the CCTV ordinance was enacted as early as 2008.  However, he said some establishments failed to comply with the ordinance until now. Hence, there is a need to penalize establishments which are not complying with such ordinance, Salcedo opined.

If the city cannot impose the law over big establishments, it is a shame to penalize small establishments, Salcedo stressed.

Councilor Salcedo is optimistic that with this development, all establishments will fully comply with the CCTV ordinance. (SP)
