The success of our city lies not in our local government but in the whole people in our community.

In an interview, councilor Pascual, chair of the City Council committee on tourism, said he is planning to source out funds not only from the city government but also from other agencies to support the tourism industry.

“We have beautiful tourist spots here in Cagayan de Oro but we never focused on improving the areas further,” he said.

The councilor said he will focus on improving existing areas and scanning for new tourist destinations for the benefit of the people.

The improvement of tourist spots will not only lure tourists but also give livelihood to those who are in need, he cited.

Pascual said he believes that the tourism industry is one of the lifeblood of the city.

In line with this, the councilor encourages the public to participate and join fiesta activities and help promote the city.

Nanghinaut ako sa inyong dakong suporta para sa kaayuhan sa atong turismo sa dakbayan,” he said.

Councilor Pascual was the former barangay chair of Tignapoloan and a first-time elected councilor.

He is the son of Johnny Pascual and Araceli  Pascual and the grandson of former Mayor Pedro “Oloy” Roa. (clo)
