Chair of the City Council committee on cooperative councilor Enrico Salcedo, with Councilor Yan Lam Lim conducted cooperative consultative and livelihood training programs in Barangays Macasandig and Lapasan recently.
This is in coordination with the Skills Training Section under the Community Improvement Division in partnership with the Barangay Councils.
Adopting the slogan, “Kooperatiba para sa katawhan, pamilya matabangan”, Councilors Salcedo and Lim expressed support to the residents and participants, saying that the consultation can help improve their lives.
The councilors gave the participants ideas and encouraged them to put up small businesses and establish cooperatives in their barangays.
“Gipaningkamotan nako nga mahatagan sa livelihood program ang tanang mga katawhan sa kada barangay para makakat-on sila og ginagmay nga negosyo aron makasuporta sa ilang mga pamilya,” Salcedo said.
The cooperative consultation and livelihood training is one of the programs initiated by the committee and supported by the city government. (SP)
