Miyake said he respects the decision of the Commission on Elections but explained that he did not insist on running even though they were reprimanded.

In his case, according to Miyake, after he filed his certicate of candidacy, the Comelec called and told him about his age where he was directed that he can withdraw his candidacy.

Sa akoa nga case, nakapasa na ko. Tapos gitawagan ko nila about (my) age. Tapos ni-ingon sila nga pwede ra mag cancel,” said Miyake.

But working as a pastor, he had no time to withdraw his candidacy.

Miyake said did not withdraw his candidacy, but emphasized that he did not insisted to run like what the Comelec said.
