EXCEPT for isolated light rains, most parts of the country would continue to experience fair weather until Christmas day as northeast monsoon remains the dominant weather system now affecting the country, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) yesterday.

Pagasa weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said the northeast monsoon or “hangin amihan” now prevails which starts blowing into the country from Siberia every mid-October and strengthens every mid-December.

However, Aurelio said that it’s not too cold due to the presence of El Niño affecting the country.

He said the agency has not seen any weather disturbance near the Philippine area that may develop into tropical cyclone within the next three to five days or until weekend.

Here, winds are expected to be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas.

The stateun weather bureau has not issued a gale warning as the fisherfolk are now safe to venture into the seas.
