COTABATO City– Anti-narcotics agents in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) announced the arrest Sunday of a 22-year-old man here for possession of P5 million worth of prohibited substance after a drug buy bust operation.

Arrested was Ayder Macabando Ibrahim of Marawi City, a report from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEAARMM) based here said. About P5 million worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, also known as “shabu” were seized from Ibrahim who did not resist arrest but visibly surprised.

Two PDEA-Armm agents posing as buyers had transacted with Ibrahim who handed over about fi ve milligrams of shabu in a heat-sealed plastic sachet.

As soon as he received the marked money, he was arrested. Further investigation led to the recovery of about a kilo of shabu with an estimated cost of P1 million from Ibrahim’s possessioon. Ibrahim is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. PDEA-Armm in a statement vowed to intensify campaign against prohibited substance and focuses its eyes on big time suppliers in Marawi, Lanao del Sur and Cotabato City where it has administrative supervision.
