City councilor Roger Abaday, who chairs the committee on senior citizens was surprised with what his colleague, Leon Gan, reported in the Council’s regular session yesterday.

Gan told the City Council that he supposedly received complaints from the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (Osca) that their budget has not been released, still.

Gan claimed that Osca feared they might not be able to push with the plans they have slated for the commemoration of senior citizens’ month on October.

Aside from the allegedly unreleased budget, Gan added, Osca’s personnel also have yet to receive their allowances.

Abaday, for his part, maintained he has not received any complaints from the senior citizens

Unsaon paghimo’g action sa komitiba kung wala’y reklamo gikan sa mga senior citizens,” Abaday countered.

He added that complaints of this nature should be aired in the proper forum. In the senior citizens’ case, during his committee meetings.
