ILIGAN City — Authorities found a lifeless body of a man beside his XRM black motorcycle at about 3:40 pm, here Wednesday.

Police identified the fatality as Celso ‘Jojo’ Codriga Alvarez, 40, and a resident of Purok Saray, this city. Alvarez succumbed to two gunshot wounds to the head –– one in front of his head and another one at the back portion of his head.

In the same date the investigation disclosed that around 3:47 pm, while the victim was riding his motorcycle, Alvarez stopped in front of a vulcanizing shop near a gasoline station when two unidentified  persons onboard a motorcycle, both were wearing black jackets and helmets suddenly shot Alvarez. After the incident the suspects fled towards an unknown direction.

Scene of the Crime Operatives led by Chief Insp. Leslie Callojellas-Segualan recovered at the crime scene three fired cartridges of caliber 45 gun, while recovered from the victim’s possession tucked on his waist was one compact size of caliber .45 pistol loaded with four live ammunition.

Police have yet to determine the motive to the killing.

Iligan City Police Director Senior Supt. Leony Roy Ga said the victim was a police asset but did not elaborate.
