Gingoog police director Senior Supt. Roel Lamiing declined to identify the suspects, explaining that one of them is a minor, but he said the suspects were charged before the City Prosecutor’s Office.

Lamiing said the suspects stabbed to death the 44-year old city government employee Reden Sabal at around 4 am in Purok 2, Barangay 17.

The victim was rushed to a hospital here and subsequently died on the road in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental while he was being moved to another hospital in Cagayan de Oro.

A day before the charges were filed, the teenager, accompanied by his parents, surrendered to Gingoog Mayor Marie Guingona.

SPO4 Teddy Macarayo said the victim and the two suspects had been in a drinking spree.

“Paghuman inum, ilang gikilkilan ang biktima apan nagdumili sa paghatag maoy hinungdan ilang gidunggab ug hinungdan sa kamatayon,” said Macarayo.
